Who We Are

Welcome to Hornsea and Holderness – Mini & Junior RUFC. The club welcomes children and young people of any gender aged 5-15 years. Hornsea RUFC was founded in 1923, with many of the original players being ex-public-school boys.

Almost a hundred years later, the club now prides itself on the development of local young players, with the Mini and Junior coaches encouraging players through their first tentative stud-sinking steps onto the pitch and up through basic and advanced rugby playing skills.

Rugby is not simply a game, and our players leave the Hollis Recreation Ground with life skills. Perfecting the art of team play, developing self-awareness and confidence, and learning respect for others are key aspects which underpin the coaching sessions we offer.

Between choosing the first pair of boots, to the first try, tackle and maul, the excitement of rugby is catching – and we hope to foster a lifetime of love for the sport. Here at Hornsea and Holderness, we are one big rugby family, and we welcome all to our teams.
